Jennifer Rene Psaki

Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, was the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. As a member in the Democratic Party, she was previously the White House deputy presses secretary (2009-2011); White House deputy communications director(2009-2011) as well as spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013)-2015 and White House communications director (2015)-2017. Psaki was a political contributor for CNN from 2017 to 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 when she worked on the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki became John Kerry's deputy press secretary in 2004. Psaki was also the director of communications for Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and was the regional press secretary for Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as the press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] On February 11 13th, 2013, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] Her hiring at the Department of State fueled speculation that she could replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney after he left the White House, on May 30 the 30th of May, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
