Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group, an NYC-based real estate brokerage, was founded by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran is among ABC's initial Shark Tank investors. Since her inception she has appeared on every 12 season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second in the family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was a mover between jobs and the next throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family frequently relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who sometimes consumed too much alcohol and did her mother a disservice and sneer, especially after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year before transferring to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
